MISSION:
Integrating the art and science of proper tree care!
Practicing environmentally sustainable tree care for rural and urban environments.
Focusing on ecological responsibility and high ethical standards. Utilizing industry accepted techniques for hazardous trees, ornamental pruning and plantings all while helping to ensure the health of that majestic white pine behind your home, selecting the right tree for the right place, or correctly installing the rope for that tire swing on your favorite oak tree.
Our Pledges:
As Your Arborist:
I vow to honestly answer any questions you may have about your trees and their environment as well as help identify trees that pose a risk to you, your property, and your family.
As a Forester:
I have an intimate knowledge of not only individual trees or small stands, but also entire communities and landscapes. There are many benefits to reading a forested landscape, feel free to ask!
As a Business:
For our safety and yours, we encourage all our employees and subcontractors to reach beyond the minimum licenses or certifications in our industry. We strive to keep progressing in education, science, safety, and practice to set ourselves apart from the competition. We vow to keep up with industry standards outlined within ANSI z91.3, annual aerial rescue training, CPR/First Aid, and other certifications such as the Electrical Hazards Awareness Certification (EHAP) from the Tree Care Industry Association.
The Environment:
We are about as green as a tree service can be. Hutch’s Tree was founded immediately after completing the University of Vermont’s School of the Environment and Natural Resources forestry program. Sustainability, stewardship, conservation, and carbon cycling are woven into our business model.
Knowledge + Mindfulness.
All wood products removed will be locally recycled into sustainable renewable products ranging from rough sawn lumber, finish-grade slabs, firewood, and wood chips or mulch.
We are knowledgeable in the guidelines created to protect our local ecology, shorelines, water quality, and wildlife habitat. Trees and all vegetation are extremely important not only in providing us with oxygen, beauty, and shade. But also keeping our rivers, streams, and lakes clean.
While it is necessary that we utilize petroleum-based products. As innovation and opportunity arise to deviate from our reliance on it, we seize it. We utilize biodegradable bar oil. Our cuts are made with hand tools when possible. The innovation of battery-operated power-tools is upon us and we have begun shifting our arsenal from gas to battery operated tools. We have done our best to remove petroleum dependance where we can and will continue to do so.
